The COVIDaware MN exposure notification system helps slow the spread of COVID-19. With this system, your phone gets notified when you may have been exposed to COVID-19. Exposure notification uses privacy-preserving technology developed by Apple and Google. It exchanges anonymous Bluetooth keys with other phones when they are within 6 feet of each other for more than 15 minutes. If another user reports a positive COVID-19 test, the phones they exchanged keys with are anonymously notified. This lets Minnesotans know when they should take extra care and get tested.
