New feature:
- Severe weather alert notifications. This feature will allow users to be notified of severe weather conditions in locations they are tracking.
You can choose whether or not this feature will be enabled by going to Settings --> Severe weather alerts, there you will find a "on / off" switch.
If switch is set to on position, you can set which location you would like to be notified about. Current location, if set, is enabled by default but can be disabled, other locations are disabled by default and need to be manually enabled.
The notification will appear in enabled locations once there's a weather warning for those locations that's more severe than the threshold set.
Once the notification appears, tapping on it will take you to accuweather page with more info, like is already done by tapping on the warning in app itself, and the notification will be removed.
You can also remove the notification by swiping it away.
Note that once notification is removed, it will only reappear if the warning type changes, and 20 to 25 minutes have passed since first appearance of notification.
Also note that this feature is only available for Android Lollipop and later devices, Kitkat users will unfortunately not be getting this feature.
Minor new features:
- App colours have been adapted to the new Sony style.
- Settings screen has been adapted to Android Oreo guidelines, therefore dividers are now placed only between categories.
- Old launcher icon was replaced with a new launcher icon.
Bug fixes:
- White screen appearing in multi-window mode when adding same city in different languages has been removed.
- Fixed disappearing location info when entering app from Clock & Weather widget.
- Tapping on weather widget that is set to a location other than current location will now open that location in the app and not the current location.
One last change, that is neither a bug nor a feature - the app no longer supports Android Jelly Bean, minimum system requirements have been raised to Android Kitkat devices.
What's new in Xperia Weather 1.3.A.2.4
- Completed bring-up of app for Android Oreo.
- Added new weather detail, "Total rain amount in past 3 hours". It is displayed together with the "Chance of precipitation" detail.
- Added a new context menu in the main app screen, which is activated by long-pressing any of the weather details on screen. The context menu displays all available weather details, and selecting one will immediately display it .
- Several bug fixes and general stability improvements included.
