Weather 1.3.A.2.2 Beta
New Features:
- Completed bring-up of app for Android Oreo. It is now fully aligned and functions properly on Android Oreo devices.
- Added new weather detail, "Total rain amount in past 3 hours". It is displayed together with the "Chance of precipitation" detail.
- Added a new context menu in the main app screen, which is activated by long-pressing any of the weather details on screen. The context menu displays all available weather details, and selecting one will immediately display it in the weather detail slot that was pressed. Changing weather details can still be done through the settings screen as well.
Stability improvements:
- Improved error messages on Clock & Weather widget, displaying icons indicating there is no network or that current location is disabled.
- Tapping on clock part of Clock & Weather widget will no longer display a dialog asking the user to enable location permissions, and Clock app will open as expected.
- Date text aligned with time text in Clock & Weather widget. Minutes text aligned with sun and plus icons.
- Weather info not displaying in Clock & Weather widget when location in phone settings was set to "device only" will no longer occur.
- Real feel in Weather widget was too low. Was moved further app, which in turn has likely fixed the issue of real feel sometimes disappearing as well.
- Search icon is no longer hard to see in "Add location" screen. This issue mostly occurred when light themes were used.
- Cursor in search bar was white and thus hard to be seen. Colour of the cursor was changed to address this.
- Removed transparent overlay when returning from "Welcome to Chrome" screen after tapping on extended forecast.
- Location names are now displayed properly when right-to-left languages are used.
- On devices running non-”Android Oreo”, search icon turned black even though light theme was not used. This behaviour was fixed so now the icon is white on non-light themes.
- Dialog for missing permissions was only displayed the first time app was started or after clearing app data. Now it's shown every time app is started while permissions are missing.
- Some locations were not found even with Internet turned on. These locations will be found as expected from now on.
- Current location will no longer automatically be shown after removing all cities, disabling the current location in settings and then turning the app off and on. Only the locale default location will be present.
- Next alarm cut off in landscape orientation on some devices when display size set to small
- Removed a crash on Android KitKat devices when entering "Add location" screen.
- The search icon is no longer missing in "Add location" screen Android KitKat devices.
- Clock & Weather widget should now load properly on Android KitKat devices.
- Additionally, some bugs that crawled up with the new features were discovered and resolved, but due to the fact they were fixed internally before today's publish, they will not be listed here.
What's new in Xperia Weather 1.3.A.2.2
- Clock & Weather widget - This widget allows you to access clock app by taping on clock part of it on the left, whilst tapping on the weather on the left will take you to our weather app.
- Navigation drawer is changed so that it is complaint with material design guidelines
- Changed the way new locations are added, so that now they are placed at the end of the drawer list
- Some bugs have been fixed
